Health care bill will make America sick

The health care industry in America is the best in the world.  However, the costs affiliated with this industry are out of control and in need of repair.  The problem with the recent health-care bill is that it does not address the real problem, and, instead, delivers a politically driven piece of legislative debris that  not only worsens our health-care industry, but our current economic troubles, as well.  By requiring insurance companies to accept all applicants for health insurance, despite any existing or pre-existing conditions, politicians have redefined what insurance actually is.  Insurance is designed to be a purchase to protect against an unforseen future event. There is no way possible for insurance companies to design affordable premiums for people buying into a plan where expensive costs already exist.  There are only two options for insurance companies under this scenario....to drastically raise premiums to accept sick people onto their books, or to go out of business.  It would be like forcing insurance companies to accept homeowners insurance from someone as their house was burning down or to accept car insurance from someone whose teenager just totaled the family car.  This is no longer insurance as it is currently defined.  Of course, the ultimate destination, as designed by democrats, is for the insurance industry to fail so government can step in and take over this huge chunk of the American economy.  This government tampering with our economy has already been witnessed in the banking collapse.  The democrats required banks to lend money to unqualified homeowners under the socialist umbrella that low-income and minority applicant deserved to be homewoners.  The government altered the economic equations for businesses and forced them to take on unacceptable risks in lending money for homes.  The result was one of the worst economic disasters of our lifetime.  Now, our liberal friends in Washington are at it again, and the result will surely be the same.  As the insurance industry tries to comply with the foolishness of democrats, economic wisdom will take a back seat to party politics and government intervention.  Our health-care industry will never be the same, replace by some form of socialized medicine.

Excellent commentary revealing the true hidden agenda behind this disastrous health care reform bill...You have answered the question " Who benefits ? " with clarity and sagacity...

We are losing our freedoms to choose, to move about, to protect ourselves...we are losing our rights to free speech, unless politically correct...this is an outrageous assault on our liberty that must be defeated in November 2010, and 2012....Larry

You understand the system. There are many out there that do not have a clue.

Thanks for explaining it to us.

I had to visit you post after reading all the hub posting on Valentines Hub. My brain and spirit need a lift. I find it exhausting to reason why anyone would want to live under a Socialist government.

Thanks,

Well, i guess i cannot comment on this issue. Obviously those people who deny that health care and insurance companies running amok is a major problem, have not worked in the health care field. There is so much abuse it is disgusting. These issues should have been dealt with years ago. And just for the record, the health care system in America is not the best in the world, it ranks far below the best on many levels. I have come to realize that it really does not matter what issue is brought up, if it is not in the interest of big business, or can not benefit the far right wing nuts, then it is automatically denied. Amazing.

You are nuts if you think government can run anything efficiently. It must be done in the private sector, through competition and the empowering of the patient to shop his services to bring down costs. I know you probably want more freebies from the government, but us hard-working people are tired of paying for your dead weight.
