A Father's Love
56A Father's Love
Recently, as I was swimming with my 7 year old daughter, I felt a desire to give her a big hug and express my love. So, I held her close and told her how much I loved her and how she was a special blessing in my life. This tender moment did not last long as she replied," OK Daddy, now back away.... you have a big booger in your nose!" Well, that clumsy effort at affection did not go as planned, however, my love for my daughter is unwavering. As Father's Day approaches, let us remember how special a father's love is, no matter how bumbling the expression or how lame the attempt to communicate his feelings. Let us also remember the perfect love of our heavenly Father whose love can fill any void created from the hurts of this world. Happy Fathers Day

Braud,
That hug you gave your daughter made me reflect back to the times when my father hugged me in same capacity. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this timely reminder. I have an 8-year-old who is the apple of my eye, so I can understand your feelings here! Actually I guess our daughters then are about the same age? Mine turned 8 in March.
Thanks for sharing
Love and peace

Wonderfull! But until recently, I never knew that parents, especialy fathers, can hug their children though I knew that they have compassion!
May be when I was 3 but I don't quite remember. But I have a question for you; do you sometime hug other children apart from your own? Are you a 'general father' like the one in heaven or are you only a 'biological father?' But I can guess you are the former. Your master said if you welcome young children in his name you welcome him. Thanks for being concerned with such things.

braudboy - your daughter will remember that hug forever. I was a daughter once - and I can tell you from first-hand experience. Keep hugging!
